# AI Assistant

The AI Assistant allows you to interact with FSProtect using natural language. It can answer questions about FSProtect, the page you are currently viewing, and, depending on the configured data access level, your live security and scan data.

The Assistant uses the AI provider and model selected for your account. Before using it, at least one AI provider and model must be configured.

### Using the AI Assistant

When the Assistant is opened, it automatically recognizes the page you are currently viewing. The active page is displayed at the top of the Assistant, such as **Viewing: Dashboard**.

You can type your own question in the message field or use one of the suggested questions to get started. Suggested questions may help you understand the current page, summarize available information, or learn how to perform common tasks in FSProtect.

### Conversation History

The AI Assistant keeps a history of your conversations so you can return to previous chats and continue where you left off.

You can open the conversation history from the Assistant toolbar, switch between previous conversations, start a new conversation, or delete conversations you no longer need.

### Selecting an AI Model

The currently selected AI model is displayed below the message field. If multiple providers or models are available, you can select which model the Assistant should use for the conversation.

The data available to the selected model depends on the access settings configured for its AI provider.

### **Asking questions about the current page**

<figure><img src="https://3408039743-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FObpV44hoVkNmo5bFuVVL%2Fuploads%2FkmS5D4BaAbswFYlTgGGy%2Faigif%203.gif?alt=media&amp;token=7f669569-0f53-4d34-a81e-c4f8f1b54d16" alt=""><figcaption><p>The AI Assistant answering a question about the Dashboard</p></figcaption></figure>

When used on the Dashboard, the AI Assistant can help interpret the information currently displayed on the page. This allows users to quickly understand which areas may need attention without manually reviewing each widget and metric.

In this example, the Assistant reviews the Dashboard context and suggests the highest-priority areas to focus on first.

### Getting remediation guidance

The AI Assistant can also help you understand how to remediate issues identified in your environment. When an issue is selected, you can ask for remediation guidance based on the issue details and the affected assets available to the Assistant.

In this example, the user asks how to remediate the **“Certificate Authority Allows Clients to Specify Arbitrary SAN”** issue. The Assistant reviews the available issue context and provides remediation steps for the affected environment.

<figure><img src="https://3408039743-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FObpV44hoVkNmo5bFuVVL%2Fuploads%2FVcDaqFn2jsVvsfJzOhFq%2Faigif%204.gif?alt=media&amp;token=1e4890f4-b261-4883-815a-47ac5c129da0" alt=""><figcaption><p><strong>The AI Assistant providing remediation guidance for a detected issue</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

Depending on the issue and the configured data access level, the Assistant may use issue details, affected entities, related documentation, and other available security data to provide a more relevant response.

### Finding high-risk users

The AI Assistant can also help you search the selected scan and return structured results. On pages such as **Advanced Search**, you can ask the Assistant to identify specific users, assets, or other security-relevant data and present the results in a table.

In this example, the user asks **“Which Tier 0 users have the highest security risk in this scan? Show me the results in a table.”** The Assistant uses the available scan context to identify matching users and returns the results in a structured table for easier review.

<figure><img src="https://3408039743-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FObpV44hoVkNmo5bFuVVL%2Fuploads%2FFxOAzaSNH7x1if6OInyc%2Faigif%205.gif?alt=media&amp;token=9e5c658e-c48c-42f1-84fe-d00faf3cde20" alt=""><figcaption><p>The AI Assistant returning a table of high-risk Tier 0 users</p></figcaption></figure>

Structured responses such as tables are useful when you want to review and compare multiple results quickly. Depending on the question and the configured data access level, the Assistant can help locate users, groups, devices, findings, and other scan-related data.
